1.5. Operation

With changing circumstances on the worksite, there may also be a need for modifying or removing of a sign or a series of signs. Remove/cover signs not applicable for outside of work hours.

Regular inspection, cleaning and replacing of damaged signs, as appropriate must be carried out to ensure continued effectiveness.

Road surfaces on which traffic is travelling or around the worksite also needs inspection and possible maintenance to ensure satisfactory operational condition

The layout should be driven through again periodically to check that signs are still in place and still appropriate.
