Government Energy Management Program (GEMP) Professionals
BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
This 3-day training equips participants with the essential knowledge and competencies to serve as Government Energy Conservation Officers (GECOs) in compliance with the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act (RA 11285) and its Implementing Rules and Regulations. The course focuses on designing, implementing, and evaluating energy management programs, including the preparation of Energy Efficiency and Conservation Plans (EECPs) and regulatory reports, using practical exercises and hands-on application of the GEMP Online System to promote cost-effective and sustainable energy practices.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- To explain the key concepts of the Energy Efficiency and Conservation (EEC) Act and the Government Energy Management Program (GEMP), including the role of the government sector in achieving at least a 10% reduction in energy consumption.
2. To familiarize participants with available financing modalities and funding sources for government energy efficiency and conservation projects.
3. To capacitate participants in the use of the GEMP Online System for the submission of required reports and compliance documentation.
4. To guide participants in the formulation of an Energy Efficiency and Conservation Plan (EECP) that outlines strategies to achieve at least a 10% reduction in electricity and fuel consumption in line with GEMP objectives.
