Engr. Jay Escorial is a Registered Electrical Engineer, DOE-Certified Energy Manager, DOE-Certified Energy Auditor, and an accredited Occupational Safety and Health Practitioner. He is currently the Technical Services Manager of J3 Trainers & Consultants, Inc., where he provides expertise in energy training and audits, safety inspection, audit & management. His role covers a wide range of responsibilities including conducting energy audits and consultancy services, With his strong background in electrical engineering and energy management, Engr. Escorial brings valuable knowledge in developing and implementing practical solutions for energy efficiency, workplace safety, and environmental sustainability.

Engr. Christian Paul Arnado

Engr. Christian Paul Arnado is a DOE-Certified Energy Manager and Auditor, and a Registered Mechanical Engineer who graduated from the Cebu Institute of Technology – University. He currently works as Facilities and EHS Engineer at Teradyne Philippines, Ltd., a consumer electronics and industrial automation company in Lapu-Lapu City. His responsibilities include monitoring and analyzing energy consumption, ensuring the installation, operation, and maintenance of equipment for optimum performance, and managing facility systems such as chillers, compressors, air conditioners, ventilation units, pumps, and the Building Management System. Before joining Teradyne, he spent four years as a Maintenance Engineer at Minebea Mitsumi, where he performed similar functions including energy monitoring across company divisions.

Course Description

The 52-hour course is designed to provide the learner with knowledge, practical skills and attitude required to carry out an energy audit that involves gathering of data, evaluating and analyzing energy usage in a facility and recommending opportunities to reduce energy consumption through conservation and optimization. Course certificate is a requirement to apply for a Certified Energy Auditor qualification with the Department of Energy (DOE).

Course Objectives

Upon completion of the Energy Auditor Certification Course (EACC), participants are able to:

  • perform the role of an energy auditor;
  • gather, evaluate and analyze data on energy use, energy efficiency and consumption;
  • identify and prioritize  opportunities to improve energy performance;
  • conduct pre-audit, site audit and post-audit activities; and
  • comply the reportorial requirements under RA 11285:2018 (EEC Act) and its IRR.

 

Who may benefit from the course?

The course is mandatory for individuals who will be carrying out energy audits in designated establishments. This also offers benefits to existing and would-be energy managers whose  responsibilities include the conduct energy audit activities.

The course is nice-to-have for other members of the energy performance improvement team in designated establishments to gain essential knowledge and significantly contribute to the attainment of the establishment’s energy goals, objectives and targets.
