Safety and Health Program Auditing Course (SHPAC)

Course Description

A 40-hour advanced course on occupational safety and health designed for equipping safety officers and members of the safety and health committee with applied knowledge and skills to prevent to audit a Safety and Health Program, determine its effectiveness and identity areas for corrective action and improvement.

Objectives

At the end of the training, participants shall be able to:

1. explain the benefits of implementing an effective safety and health program;
2. describe the elements of an effective safety and health program;
3. discuss the importance of audit to make safety and health programs effective;
4. develop a safety and health audit plan;
5. create an audit checklist;
6. conduct a safety and health audit;
7. describe the roles and traits of an effective auditor;
8. prepare and present audit findings; and
9. create a corrective action plan.
